GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING – December 19, 2017

Meeting opened at 7:37pm at HVFD

General Discussion/Business:

  • Cheer Mat Storage.  Storage facilities have been priced.  Discussed possibility of building a shed next to our equipment shed.  Andre to make calls regarding new storage shed and location.

  • Board to vote on new football and cheer commissioners following tonight’s meeting.

  • Lacrosse SMYLA Meeting to take place January 6th, 2018. 

  • Discussed field availability and issues regarding our practice fields.  CMS is not ideal for lacrosse practice. 

  • Calverton fields can be rented $60 per night for 3 nights a week or $50 per night for 4 nights a week.

  • Calverton Friday Night Game option if we rent field 4 nights a week at $85 per hour (for games).

  • Andre to call Phil at CCPR to discuss field options/availability.

  • Fred to order 2 cases of lacrosse balls.

  • HYC lacrosse goals are being repaired/welded.

  • Discussed options for lacroose fundraiser, to help fund rental of Calverton field.

  • Need to put in our fields to CCPR by January 1, 2018.

  • Marley Run needs our game dates and times in February.

  • All lacrosse teams have been assigned coaches except Scoopers/U7.  Fred to coach until he can recruit a parent/coach.

  • Fred to put up lacrosse registration signs on Route 4 sometime next week.

  • Nicki Daniels introduced herself and discussed her interest in the cheer commissioner role.  She went over her experience and qualifications. 

  • Jennifer Elliott also introduced herself and told us about herself and why she was interested in filling the cheer commissioner position.

  • Patrick Parise introduced himself and went over his experience and qualifications and expressed his interest in joining the club as our new football commissioner.

  • Shawn Bolger spoke on behalf of himself, in regards to his interest in the football commissioner position, his experience and time with HYC. 

  • Andre thanked all interested volunteers and assured everyone we will have a volunteer role in some capacity or another regardless of the outcome of tonight’s vote. HYC Board is excited to have multiple people willing to step up and take on these leadership roles.

  •  Candidates/Nominees and general members in attendance were excused.

  • Board members and 2 General Members who earned a vote (Shannon Gatens and Katie Hall) remained and held an open discussion regarding the open positions and those interested.

  • Each voting member voted anonymously on a paper ballot.

  • Votes were tallied by Sean Queen and displayed on the white board.

  • Patrick Parise will serve as our new Football Commissioner.

  • Nicki Daniels will serve as our new Cheer Commissioner.

  • Meeting adjourned at 8:38pm
